A major case of administrative negligence has emerged from Ulhasnagar, where a four-storey dilapidated building named Lake View collapsed during a planned demolition operation in the Hira Ghat area. Explosives had reportedly been placed beneath the structure as part of the rebuilding process, and the building came crashing down moments after the blast. While the demolition itself was expected, authorities allegedly failed to implement basic safety measures. No barricades were placed around the site, and public movement on nearby roads was not stopped before the explosion. As the building collapsed suddenly, panic spread across the area, with people seen running in fear. A massive cloud of dust engulfed the locality, causing breathing difficulties and discomfort for nearby residents and pedestrians. The incident has raised serious questions about safety protocols and administrative preparedness during demolition activities, as officials failed to secure the surrounding area despite prior planning for the operation.
