A shocking murder case from Punjab’s Ludhiana has triggered outrage after Punjabi singer Inder Kaur was found dead six days after being allegedly kidnapped at gunpoint. Her body was recovered from a canal, intensifying questions over police action and the accused’s escape from India. According to the victim’s family, Inder Kaur was abducted on May 13 by Sukhwinder Singh, also known as Sukhna, who reportedly had a close friendship with her. However, the singer’s brother alleged that the accused wanted to forcibly marry Inder Kaur and became enraged after she refused his proposal. Family members further claimed that Sukhwinder Singh had arrived in India from Canada through Nepal specifically to target the singer. After allegedly carrying out the kidnapping and murder, he is believed to have escaped back to Canada using the Nepal route once again. The incident has raised serious concerns over the functioning of the local police. Despite the family filing a complaint soon after the kidnapping, the accused allegedly managed to flee the country before authorities could stop him. Questions are now being raised over why a lookout circular (LOC) was not issued immediately after the FIR was registered. Police sources reportedly confirmed that the accused traveled through Nepal both while entering and leaving India. However, senior officials are yet to make a detailed public statement on the matter. The brutal killing has shocked Punjab’s music industry and sparked anger among fans and local residents. The case is now expected to involve multiple agencies as investigators attempt to track the accused internationally and determine the exact sequence of events leading to Inder Kaur’s death.
