Urvashi shares family’s views about de-glam avatar for web show

'Urvashi, you look way better without makeup': Urvashi Rautela reveals family's views amid de-glamming for 'Inspector Avinash 2

Actress and supermodel Urvashi Rautela is winning praise for her performance in ‘Inspector Avinash 2’. In a recent interview, she revealed why she chose to go almost completely makeup-free for the series. She also talked about why she actively seeks out difficult roles and what her ultimate dream project looks like.

Urvashi Rautela talks about the no-makeup look for ‘Inspector Avinash 2’

Urvashi Rautela, in an interview with Mid-Day, made a conscious decision to keep her appearance in the show as real and unglamorous as possible, staying consistent with the tone established in Season 1. She shared, “It’s going to be an extension of season 1. And in season 1, everyone appreciated it a lot. It was a very simple look.”Several scenes were filmed in demanding conditions, including a rain sequence alongside co-star Randeep Hooda, with virtually no cosmetic enhancement. She added, “As you can see, there are a lot of scenes in it. Like me and Randeep Hooda standing under the rain. There is literally no makeup on my face. Zero makeup. Only lip balm and just like a hint of kajal.”Interestingly, this is a look her own loved ones have long encouraged. “My family and friends around me always say, ‘Urvashi, you look way better without makeup than in makeup. Stop doing all this makeup.’ They say it makes me look bad in makeup,” she laughed.

Urvashi Rautela hopes people will talk about her performance

Urvashi Rautela is keen for audiences and critics alike to engage with her work as an actor rather than her appearance. She said, “When Season 1 was released, the audience also gave the same response. I think the same response is going to be given in Season 2. Especially because there are a lot of scenes in it. I really hope people will talk about my performance and critics will talk about my performance.”The actress is equally deliberate in the kinds of projects she takes on, actively avoiding safe or unchallenging work. In the same interview, Urvashi said, “Performance-driven, meatier roles challenge you as a person, and that’s where the creative satisfaction comes from.” She added, “I’m not that kind of person who thinks there’s easy money and we should avoid difficult stuff. I actually believe in doing difficult things.”She drew a parallel with her fashion choices on the red carpet: “No other actresses wear outfits as heavy as I do. My outfits are very uncomfortable and heavier, but I think it defines me as a person because I like challenging myself.”

Urvashi Rautela talks about her grand dream

Urvashi also spoke about her multi-hyphenate identity beyond acting. “Apart from being an actress, I’m also a supermodel, into fashion, a two-time MUI, and the youngest judge in the history of M Universe. I do many things,” she said.Looking ahead, she has one dream role firmly in mind. She said, “I really want to play a goddess, princess, or queen in a period drama, maybe with a love story and action sequences.”
