Texas kid's remains found 4 years after he mysteriously disappeared; Mother, stepfather fled to India with six other children

Remains of Noel Rodriguez found years after he disappeared. His mother fled to India with the help of his stepfather Arshdeep Singh, and was arrested in 2025.

Noel Rodriguez -Alvarez was born with disabilities. In March 2023, the six-year-old was reported missing by worried relatives, prompting cops to do a welfare check at his home near Dallas, Texas. His mother Cindy Rodriguez-Singh told the cops that Noel had been sent to Mexico to live with his biological father. But two days later, Cindy left the US with her husband Arshdeep Singh, took six other children and went to India. Hunt for Cindy and Noel continued for years until Cindy was found in India. She was transferred to the US in 2025to face a capital murder charge.Last week, the bone-chilling case saw new updates as the authorities said they found remains of Noel, as they did not give up on the search even after Cindy’s arrest.”I would like to tell him. ‘Rest well little man. We’ll take it from here,’” said Everman Police Chief Al Brooks in a statement. Brooks said the discovery was the result of a years‑long investigation in which law enforcement “refused to give up on Noel.” Tarrant County District Attorney Phil Sorrells said investigators “will not stop working for justice for him.

Who is Cindy Rodriguez?

The Texas woman was placed on the list of FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives last year before her arrest in India. Investigators are not yet certain about why and how Noel was killed. But they are now sure that Noel was killed much before the welfare check in 2023 and that probably Noel was killed in 2022 as he was last seen alive in October 2022.Court records said Cindy used to abuse and neglect him and used to describe him as “possessed” or a threat to other siblings. After her arrest, she was ruled incompetent to stand trial and has been assigned for psychiatric treatment.Cindy’s husband Arshdeep Singh has been accused of helping Cindy flee the US and he faces charges related to unlawful flight and child endangerment.Cindy has now accused the jail officials of sexually abusing her and using a mind-reading device.
