Hamas on Friday released footage purportedly showing two live hostages, who were abducted in the October 7, 2023, attack on Israel.

The video showed the hostage, identified as Guy Gilboa-Dalal, inside a car being driven through an area with destroyed buildings, and appealing to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not to carry out a planned military offensive to conquer Gaza City, news agency AFP reported.

Gilboa-Dalal was attending the Nova music festival in southern Israel when he was abducted by Hamas militants during their attack on the event.

In the video put out on Friday, he said in Hebrew that he was in Gaza City and the footage was shot on August 28.

He was shown meeting another captive towards the end of the video. The other Israeli hostage was identified as Alon Ohel.

AFP was, however, unable to immediately verify the video.

In February, Hamas released a video that showed Gilboa-Dalal and another hostage sitting in a vehicle and watching a hostage release event during a short truce. Hamas’s 2023 attack killed 1,219 people, most of them civilians, according to Israeli figures collected by AFP.

Out of the 251 hostages seized during the October 7 attack, 47 still remain in Gaza, including the 25 who the Israeli military says are dead.

Israel’s retaliatory war has killed at least 64,300 Palestinians, according to data shared by the health ministry in Hamas-run Gaza.
