In Lucknow, tensions escalated during a demolition drive near the district court premises after the administration carried out a bulldozer action against alleged illegal constructions, including advocate chambers and shops built on encroached land as per a High Court order. The operation, involving multiple bulldozers and heavy police deployment, faced strong resistance from lawyers and their supporters. Protesters reportedly locked their chambers and opposed the demolition, claiming they were not given proper notice and that the action was unjustified. As the situation turned tense, police resorted to a lathi charge to disperse the protesting crowd and continue the demolition process. Several lawyers expressed anger over the use of force, alleging that even senior advocates were chased and beaten during the confrontation. The incident has led to a highly charged atmosphere in the area, with ongoing bulldozer action and continued protests by members of the legal community.
