The actor-turned-author said she was surprised when her father told her about the prediction because Akshay’s full name had reportedly been mentioned. Years later, Twinkle and Akshay married after her film ‘Mela’ failed at the box office, turning a playful promise into one of Bollywood’s most talked-about love stories.

Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna’s love story

Akshay and Twinkle first met during a Filmfare photo shoot in Mumbai. Akshay later recalled, “I met Twinkle for the first time during a photo session with Jayesh Seth for Filmfare. I still have that photograph. Thank you Filmfare!”Their relationship grew during the shoot of ‘International Khiladi.’ Twinkle had once described her interest in Akshay as a rebound after a failed relationship and called him “six feet of chocolate ice cream.”Akshay proposed to Twinkle, but she told him she would marry him only if ‘Mela’ did not work. The film failed, and the couple married on January 17, 2001, in a small ceremony attended by about 50 people. They welcomed their son, Aarav, in 2002, and their daughter, Nitara, in 2012. On ‘Koffee With Karan,’ Akshay spoke about their bond and said, “We keep on discovering new things about each other because we are so different. We are poles apart. Well, isn’t that what makes two people more compatible as a couple? It surely is!”In an interview with HT, Akshay called Twinkle his best friend. “Tina (Twinkle) is my best friend. My wife is the best person any man could wish to wake up next to. She holds me up when I’m falling, and puts me down when I’m flying. She makes me laugh when I’m sad, and moans when I am sitting idle. Tina is everything for me. She is my reality check.”The couple has often spoken about their differences, humor, and direct opinions throughout their long marriage. Go to Source
