In a landmark judgment, the Indore Bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court has delivered its verdict in the long-running Bhojshala dispute, granting Hindus the right to worship at the site and recognizing the structure as a temple dedicated to Goddess Saraswati. The court stated that its decision was based on facts and findings that emerged during the investigation and hearings conducted in the matter. According to the judgment, evidence examined during the proceedings supported the Hindu side’s claim that the Bhojshala complex historically functioned as a temple associated with Maa Saraswati. The High Court also referred to findings that surfaced during the ASI-related investigation, emphasizing that historical and structural evidence played an important role in arriving at the verdict. The decision is being seen as one of the most significant legal developments in Madhya Pradesh’s religious and historical disputes. At the same time, the court suggested a possible resolution path for the Muslim side. The judgment stated that the Muslim पक्ष may submit an application to the government seeking allocation of separate land for construction or use of a mosque at a non-disputed location. The court observed that the state government could consider providing land at a reasonable distance from Bhojshala to avoid future conflict. The dispute over Bhojshala had remained sensitive for years, with Hindu groups identifying the site as a Saraswati temple while the Muslim side referred to it as the Kamal Maula Mosque. The verdict is expected to trigger major political, legal, and social reactions across the country as authorities monitor the situation closely in Dhar and nearby areas.
