BREAKING: Himanta Biswa Sarma Takes Oath as Assam CM for Second Term with NDA Strength

In a major political development from Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma has officially taken oath as the Chief Minister for a second consecutive term, marking a significant continuation of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in the state. The grand oath-taking ceremony was held at the Khanapara Veterinary College Ground in Guwahati amid massive public participation and strong political presence. The event was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP National President J.P. Nadda, and several other senior leaders from the NDA alliance, highlighting the importance of Assam in the national political landscape. The ceremony reflected strong unity within the alliance as key regional partners also took oath as ministers alongside the Chief Minister. Along with Himanta Biswa Sarma, four ministers were sworn in during the ceremony, representing both the BJP and its allied parties. Notable names include Atul Bora from the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), Chandan Brahma from the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF), Rameshwar Teli, and Ajanta Neog, who continues to hold key responsibilities in the state cabinet. The event saw a festive atmosphere with thousands of supporters gathering from different parts of Assam, many arriving early in the morning. The venue was decorated with large hoardings and banners showcasing central and state leadership, reflecting the celebratory mood of the occasion. This oath ceremony also reinforces the NDA’s strong electoral mandate in Assam, where the alliance secured a decisive majority in the recent state elections. Political observers see this as a continuation of governance stability and development-focused leadership under Sarma’s administration.
