Why Kiara-Sid kept it private; wants Saraayah to ‘experience life fully’

Kiara Advani reveals why she and Sidharth Malhotra kept their relationship private; wants daughter Saraayah to ‘experience life fully’

Kiara Advani recently opened up about her relationship with husband Sidharth Malhotra and why the couple consciously chose to keep their romance away from the public eye for years before marriage.Talking about maintaining privacy in their relationship, the actress shared that while the people close to them always knew about their bond, they never felt the need to publicly discuss it.“We never hid our relationship from the people close to us; we just didn’t talk about it publicly. Both of us are naturally private people,” Kiara told Raj Shamani.Explaining the reason behind the decision, the actress added that they simply wanted to protect a part of their personal lives from constant public discussion.“Sometimes it’s easier to keep your personal life personal because you don’t want to become everyone’s dinner-table conversation,” she shared.Kiara admitted that public curiosity around their relationship was always there; however, both she and Sidharth wanted their work to remain the centre of attention rather than their personal lives.“Of course people were curious, but we wanted the focus to remain on work. Also, sometimes you just want to live normally, go out for dinner, and not feel watched all the time,” she added.

‘Sidharth thinks I multitask too much’

During the interaction, Kiara also revealed one habit of hers that often annoys Sidharth. “He thinks I multitask too much,” she said with a laugh. “If he’s telling me something important, I might also be switching on the AC, checking on the baby, making coffee — and he feels like I’m not listening. But I genuinely process things better while multitasking.”The actress also credited her parents for shaping her understanding of love, marriage and companionship. According to Kiara, watching her parents function as a team influenced what she wanted in her own relationship.“I grew up seeing my parents as a team. If my mom said no to something, I couldn’t go to my dad for a different answer. They were united, and I really admire that. I want that same sense of teamwork in my own marriage,” she said.

Kiara Advani on heartbreak, motherhood and emotional healing

Kiara also spoke candidly about heartbreak and emotional vulnerability, sharing that she believes in fully processing emotions instead of suppressing them.“I allow myself to fully feel every emotion. Whether it’s sadness, anger, heartbreak, jealousy — I think it’s important not to suppress emotions or label them as negative. Feel them completely, understand them, and then let them pass through you,” she explained. The actress further admitted that one of her biggest fears today is losing her peace of mind, especially after embracing motherhood.“Technology scares me sometimes, especially how easily it can be misused. And personally, my biggest fear right now is losing my peace of mind. Motherhood makes you emotionally vulnerable, and I feel like my mind has to become my friend, not my enemy,” she said.Talking about the kind of values she hopes to pass on to her daughter Saraayah in the future, Kiara said she wants her child to grow up feeling free enough to make her own decisions.“I want her to experience life fully and make her own choices. I don’t want her to feel restricted by any preconceived idea of how life or relationships are ‘supposed’ to be. As parents, our job is to create a safe environment and trust her journey,” she concluded.Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra welcomed their daughter, Saraayah Malhotra, on July 15, 2025. The couple revealed her name on November 28, 2025, describing her as a “divine blessing” and their “princess”. Go to Source
