All Nippon Airways (ANA) has announced a strategic travel partnership with Aamir Khan Productions Pvt. Ltd. for the upcoming Hindi film ‘Ek Din’, marking the airline’s first collaboration with the Indian film industry. The partnership reflects ANA’s efforts to strengthen cultural engagement and brand visibility in India through cinema-led initiatives.
As part of the agreement, ANA supported the film’s production by providing international and domestic air travel, along with on-ground assistance during filming in Japan. The project was extensively shot across Hokkaido, with locations including Sapporo, Otaru, Asahikawa and Noboribetsu forming key backdrops. The Sapporo Snow Festival also features as a highlight within the film.
‘Ek Din’ stars Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi in lead roles and is set against Japan’s winter landscape, positioning the destination as a central narrative element. The collaboration integrates ANA’s service offering into the production process, aligning with its focus on delivering Japanese hospitality, or Omotenashi, to international travellers and partners.
The announcement comes alongside ANA’s broader strategy to deepen its presence in India, including the resumption of daily flights between Mumbai and Tokyo (Narita) from March 29, 2026. The airline aims to leverage such partnerships to promote inbound tourism to Japan while building cultural connections between the two countries.
“We are honoured and excited to partner with Aamir Khan Productions Pvt. Ltd. on the upcoming release of ‘Ek Din’. This collaboration reflects our commitment to strengthening ties between Japan and India through cultural exchange and meaningful partnerships.
At All Nippon Airways, we take pride in delivering world-class service, backed by our renowned Japanese hospitality and extensive domestic network. Since 2023 it has been a privilege to support the talented team led by Aamir Khan in bringing this exciting project to life in Hokkaido.
We are delighted with the resumption of our daily flights effective 29 March 2026 from Mumbai to Tokyo (Narita) and truly hope that it will inspire more travellers from India to explore Japan and experience its rich culture and natural beauty. ANA remains committed to providing safe, comfortable, and seamless travel experiences while continuing to foster future collaborations with the Indian film industry,” said Kazuto Shiba, General Manager, ANA Mumbai.
“We are delighted to collaborate with All Nippon Airways on this special project. Japan, particularly Hokkaido, offers a unique and visually stunning backdrop for storytelling, and this partnership has made our filming experience seamless and truly memorable.
ANA’s exceptional hospitality, reliability, and commitment to excellence have greatly supported our cast and crew throughout the production of ‘Ek Din’. We hope this film not only entertains audiences but also strengthens cultural ties between India and Japan, inspiring more collaborations in the future,” said Aamir Khan.
The partnership highlights a growing trend of aviation and tourism stakeholders collaborating with film productions to drive destination visibility and cross-market engagement.
