Kalyani Priyadarshan gets candid about her Cannes 2026 debut: 'Want to enjoy the whole experience and go with the flow'

Fresh off the critical and commercial success of ‘Lokah Chapter One: Chandra’, actress Kalyani Priyadarshan is now preparing for the biggest moment of her career so far, her debut at the Cannes Film Festival 2026. The actress is set to walk the iconic red carpet on May 14, marking a proud new chapter for both herself and Indian cinema.

Kalyani Priyadarshan talks about her Cannes 2026 debut

Kalyani Priyadarshan opened up about what attending the festival means to her. She shared with Moneycontrol, “Cannes has always been such an iconic celebration of cinema, so being there this year feels very special. I’m grateful for all the love ‘Lokah Chapter One: Chandra’ has received. I think Indian cinema is being recognised globally in such an exciting way right now. It’s lovely to be part of that larger movement and experience a platform like Cannes at this stage of my journey.”

Rather than approaching the high-profile outing with nerves or grand plans, Kalyani says she intends to simply soak it all in. Talking about her preparations, she said, “I just want to enjoy the whole experience and go with the flow without putting too much pressure on myself.”

Kalyani Priyadarshan has several projects in the pipeline. The actress will star in ‘Genie’, with Ravi Mohan and Krithi Shetty. She is also part of another Tamil film ‘Marshal’, featuring Karthi. She is also in the race to star opposite Ranveer Singh’s next movie ‘Pralay’. She also has ‘Lokah Chapter 2: Michael’.The actress was last seen in the movie ‘Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra’, which was released on August 28, 2025. The film received a lot of appreciation and love from the audience. Directed by Dominic Arun, the movie also featured Naslen K Gafoor as the male lead. It collected over Rs 300 crore worldwide at the box office.
