Tamil Nadu: TVK crosses majority mark as VCK, IUML extend support
Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) crossed the majority mark in the Tamil Nadu Assembly after VCK and IUML extended support to Vijay-led party’s bid to form the government. VCK chief Thol Thirumavalavan formally handed over a support letter, taking TVK’s tally to 119, before IUML support pushed it to 120 MLAs. India successfully tests Advanced Agni missile with MIRV capability
India announced the successful flight-test of an Advanced Agni missile equipped with Multiple Independently Targeted Re-Entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology, significantly boosting the country’s strategic strike capability. Prime Minister Narendra Modi bowed before the people of West Bengal with folded hands during the swearing-in ceremony of Suvendu Adhikari as the state’s first BJP chief minister. The Enforcement Directorate arrested Punjab industries minister and AAP leader Sanjeev Arora in a money laundering case after conducting raids across Delhi, Gurugram and Chandigarh. The agency alleged Arora and linked entities used fake mobile phone purchase bills through shell firms to claim fraudulent GST benefits and later routed funds via Dubai. Read full story
