Akshay Kumar will not feature in Nikkhil Advani’s ‘Salaam-e-Ishq’ sequel - Reports

Akshay Kumar is not part of Nikkhil Advani’s planned Salaam-e-Ishq sequel, despite earlier rumours. Reports confirming his involvement are false. The 2007 film was known for its ensemble cast and hit music. Meanwhile, Akshay continues work on multiple films including upcoming releases.

Akshay Kumar was recently reported to have been locked in for the sequel to ‘Salaam-e-Ishq’, with Nikkhil Advani said to be directing the film. The rumour quickly gained grip among fans. However, these claims are untrue, as the actor is not associated with the project in any capacity.

No truth to reports claiming Akshay Kumar’s involvement in the sequel

According to Pinkvilla, the sequel might happen or might not, but Akshay Kumar is not involved. The reports suggesting his involvement are completely baseless.

2007’s ‘Salaam-e-Ishq’ remembered for its star-studded cast and hit music

‘Salaam-e-Ishq’, which released in 2007, gained popularity for its impressive ensemble cast featuring actors such as Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, John Abraham, Vidya Balan, Govinda, Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Akshaye Khanna and Sohail Khan. The dilm also had several hit songs such as ‘Dil Kya Kare’, ‘Mera Dil’, ‘Tenu Leke’, and ‘Saiyaan Re’.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Akshay Kumar is presently riding high on the success of his recent release, ‘Bhooth Bangla’. The actor has a packed schedule ahead, with several exciting projects in various stages of development. While his untitled collaboration with Anees Bazmee is already being filmed, he is also gearing up for the release of ‘Welcome To The Jungle’, directed by Ahmed Khan, which is set to arrive in cinemas on June 26, 2026.
