'We’ll knock them out harder': Trump warns Iran of harsher military action after 3 US ships came under fire in Hormuz

Donald Trump

US President Donald Trump on Thursday claimed that three American naval destroyers came under fire while transiting through the Strait of Hormuz, but suffered no damage during the incident. He also warned Iran of stronger military action if it does not agree to sign the deal fast.In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote: “Three World Class American Destroyers just transited, very successfully, out of the Strait of Hormuz, under fire. There was no damage done to the three Destroyers, but great damage done to the Iranian attackers. They were completely destroyed along with numerous small boats, which are being used to take the place of their fully decapitated Navy.”The incident comes amid rising tensions in and around the Strait of Hormuz, a key global shipping route where both the United States and Iran have recently reported attacks and counter-attacks.

In his post, Trump described the attack, saying missiles fired at US vessels were intercepted and drones were destroyed in the air, calling it ‘like a butterfly dropping to its grave’.”Missiles were shot at our Destroyers, and were easily knocked down. Likewise, drones came, and were incinerated while in the air. They dropped ever so beautifully down to the Ocean, very much like a butterfly dropping to its grave!” he further wrote.Issuing a strong warning to Iran, Trump said that the country would face more intense military action if it does not agree to a deal quickly.”We’ll knock them out a lot harder, and a lot more violently, in the future, if they don’t get their Deal signed, FAST,” he wrote. He also said Iran is not a ‘normal country’, calling it a nation led by ‘lunatics’.”A normal Country would have allowed these Destroyers to pass, but Iran is not a normal Country. They are led by LUNATICS,” Trump wrote. He also reiterated his long-standing claims that Tehran should never be allowed to possess nuclear weapons.Trump also said the three destroyers would now return to what he described as a US naval blockade in the region.”Our three Destroyers, with their wonderful Crews, will now rejoin our Naval Blockade, which is truly a ‘Wall of Steel’,” he wrote. The remarks came hours after reports of military exchanges in and around the Strait of Hormuz. According to US Central Command, American forces targeted Iranian military facilities responsible for ‘unprovoked’ missile, drone and small boat attacks against US warships transiting the strait. The US military said no American assets were hit during the incident.Iranian state media, however, accused the United States of ceasefire violation for carrying out attacks on Iranian territory and civilian coastal areas near Qeshm Island, Bandar Khamir and Sirik, warning of a ‘crushing response’ to any further aggression.
