'Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra' box office collection day 4: Kalyani Priyadarshan's superhero film inches closer to Rs 25 crore mark after opening weekend

The Malayalam film industry found its superhero story in the Dominic Arun-directed ‘Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra.’ Headlined by Kalyani Priyadarshan, the movie was released this Thursday, i.e., on August 28, 2025. Following a decent start at the box office, the movie enjoyed the opening weekend surge and is heading towards the Rs. 25 crore mark.

According to the trade site Sacnilk, early estimates indicate that on Sunday, the movie generated a business of Rs. 9.75 crores across languages. This marks a growth from the Saturday numbers that stood at Rs. 7.6 crores, wherein the maximum earnings came from the Malayalam language, recording Rs 5.8 crore, followed by Telugu with Rs 1.2 crore of business and Tamil with Rs 0.6 crore. After the opening weekend, the net box office collection of ‘Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra’ stands at Rs. 24.05 crore.

The superhero saga saw an impressive overall 75.25% Malayalam occupancy on Sunday. On day 4, the movie saw a strong start with 65.31% footfall, which soared to 82.06% in the afternoon. There was a minor dip during the evening shows when the movie recorded an occupancy rate of 82.04%; later, it dropped further to 71.58% in the night shows.
