'Madharaasi' Twitter review: Sivakarthikeyan’s psychological thriller divides audience; what netizens are saying

Sivakarthikeyan’s much-awaited ‘Madharaasi’ which is directed by AR Murugadoss, has finally hit theatres. Now the social media is buzzing with early reactions. The psychological action thriller, which features high-stakes drama, mind games, and intense emotional conflict, has left audiences split down the middle.

Mixed first impressions for the Sivakarthikeyan starrer

Some viewers appreciated the way Murugadoss set up the film’s world. One user wrote, “#Madharaasi Passable 1st Half! The film has an engaging setup with a typical ARM style hero characterization that works decently. The interval is handled neatly. However, the middle portions and the romantic thread feel dragged at times with too many songs. The music has been a letdown so far. 2nd Half Awaits!”

However, others were far less forgiving. A harsh take read, “#Madharaasi is UNBEARABLE. Director @ARMurugadoss attempt is visible but the lacklustre writing makes it a disappointing affair. Constant over-the-top presentation, howling & build up leaves the audience irritated. The execution is flawed. NOT RECOMMENDED.”

Praise for performances and music in ‘Madharaasi’

Despite criticism, Sivakarthikeyan’s transformation seems to have struck a chord with fans. One review claimed, “#Madharaasi REVIEW #SivaKarthikeyan on #Madharaasi PEAKED. A very solid film. @ARMurugadoss, Good screen play, direction. Anirudh – the hit machine, BGM = fire. Rukmini, beautiful inside & out, makes the love portions shine! MY RATING – 4/5.” Another called it a balanced entertainer: “#Madharaasi 3.5/5 A watchable commercial entertainer! It has balanced Love Action Drama. Villain @VidyutJammwal shines. @Siva_Kartikeyan dance & fight good. @ARMurugadoss comeback. #MadharaasiReview.”

Strong reactions to writing

Not everyone was impressed with the narrative. A disappointed voice stated, “Movie has solid action packed but Poor Writing. With disappointing screen play. Overall Disaster @Siva_Kartikeyan lottery won’t work on this bro.” Another added in Tamil, “First half நல்லா எடுத்து இருக்காலம் Second half எடுக்காம இருந்து இருக்காலம் Positive Rukmini Ani bgm and song Interval 15 mins End card Negative Siva karthikeyan A R muragadoss My review .5/5.” With Sivakarthikeyan as Raghu, Rukmini Vasanth as Malathy, and a strong supporting cast including Vidyut Jammwal and Biju Menon, Madharaasi promises scale. But early Twitter chatter suggests the film may divide viewers between those impressed by its action and those let down by its writing. Go to Source
