‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’ opens to GREAT Twitter reviews

'The Conjuring: Last Rites' Twitter Reviews: Patrick Wilson-Vera Farmiga's horror film hailed by fans as 'terrifying final chapter'

Everyone’s favourite ghost-hunting duo – Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga – are back on the big screens for one final scare, and the fans are turning up in large numbers to witness this epic conclusion in ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’. The horror film, said to be the final chapter in ‘The Conjuring’ Universe, sees the Warren family return for what fans on Twitter are calling a ‘fitting’ and ‘terrifying’ farewell. Directed by Michael Chaves, the ninth film in the franchise is drawing passionate reactions online from fans who have followed Ed and Lorraine Warren on all their spooky adventures so far. As expected, the reviews, although mixed, were mostly positive. While some felt it didn’t quite match the spine-chilling intensity of earlier instalments, others hailed it as a “perfect swan-song” and “a terrifying final chapter.” Alongside the buzz, the movie is also off to a roaring start at the global and Indian box office.

Fans hail ‘Last Rites’ as the “Perfect Swan-Song”

Twitter is abuzz with strong reactions, with many hailing the movie as a chilling yet emotional send-off. One user wrote, “#TheConjuringLastRites is a terrifying final chapter of Ed and Lorraine Warren’s big screen journey. The scares are freakingly good, the dynamic between Patrick Wilson & Vera Farmiga is top-tier as always, & Mia Tomlinson as Judy Warren is a REVELATION. It is the PERFECT swan-song for Ed & Lorraine!” Another fan praised the emotional core, saying, “#ConjuringTheLastRites is the most emotional entry in the series and the jump scares were crazy. The Warrens were out in a blaze of glory. I just hope this isn’t the last we see of this universe.”For some, it ranked among the best in the saga, “The Conjuring Last Rites is a really good way of ending the Conjuring with the Warrens. You can feel that in the movie and the urgency. Although Conjuring 2 is still my favorite this is definitely better than 3 and as good as 1!”

Some fans left unimpressed

While the majority of fans praised The Conjuring: Last Rites, not everyone was fully convinced. Several viewers felt the film lacked the chilling atmosphere of the earlier films. “#ConjuringTheLastRites – Personally didn’t quite carry the same spine-chilling aura as #TheConjuring2, #Annabelle, or #Nun 1&2,” wrote a fan. Some even criticised it for relying too heavily on jump scares and loud sound effects rather than building genuine dread. One fan noted “Characters harassed with jump scare & loud noises. I didn’t see the infestation, oppression, & possession. The first Conjuring captured the feeling of infestation & oppression.”Another pointed out pacing issues and moments of unintentional humour and said, “A great fan of the Conjuring series, but The Final Rites didn’t live up to the standard.”

Fans agree that the final chapter is the ‘perfect end’

Despite differing opinions on scares and pacing, many fans united in their view that ‘Last Rites’ delivered a worthy conclusion to the Warrens’ cinematic journey. Tweets praised its callbacks, emotional weight, and strong performances. One fan declared, “#ConjuringTheLastRites is a good way to wrap up this franchise. It focuses heavily on the Warren family reminiscing on their career… The ending is 1 of the better endings in the franchise.”Even those who preferred earlier entries acknowledged that the film captured the urgency and emotion of a final chapter, making it, in the words of one viewer, “Great ending to a franchise.” Another comment added, “On the whole this offers a decent farewell to one of cinema’s most iconic horror franchises… Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga make these movies work and give once again great performances. The story is lowkey a little goofy and it’s way more funny than I was expecting but it works. A solid 7/10.””#TheConjuringLastRites brings the Warrens’ story to a fitting close in the family’s most personal film. While James Wan’s films remain at the top, this is the best one directed by Michael Chaves. It’s both frightening and moving. Farmiga and Wilson are immaculate. A good ending,” said another.Others said, “#ConjuringTheLastRites is a good way to wrap up this franchise. It focuses heavily on the Warren family reminiscing on their career. It has a lot of great call-backs and a few jump scares. The ending is 1 of the better endings in the franchise. #AMCTheaters”And a fan concluded saying, “In the end, it’s the characters that shine & make it a worthy final entry.”

Box Office Update

The Conjuring: Last Rites has opened to impressive numbers worldwide. At the Indian box office, the film has stormed ahead of domestic releases, and is expected to score an opening day collection of around Rs 15–20 crores. Trade analysts predict it could eventually surpass Rs 100 crores in India — a milestone never achieved before by a Hollywood horror release.Internationally, the film is on course for a global opening of over $100 million. Warner Bros. had cautiously projected $35 million in the US, but industry trackers estimate it could reach $55 million+, with another $50 million coming from 66 overseas markets. Go to Source
