Baaghi 4 & The Bengal Files Movie Review and Release Live Updates

Another Friday, another box office clash – and this time it is ‘Baaghi 4’ Vs ‘The Bengal Files’. Tiger Shroff’s action-packed entertainer ‘Baaghi 4’ is all set to clash with Vivek Agnihotri’s much-discussed political drama ‘The Bengal Files’. While Tiger’s film is releasing worldwide today, 5 September, the Agnihotri directorial has hit a roadblock. It will not make it to cinemas in several key international markets on its scheduled date due to delays in local censorship approvals. However, both films are confirmed to hit the Indian big screens today!

Both films are surrounded by buzz, strong star power, and strikingly different themes. One is a dark, violent action thriller, and the other a historic drama exploring one of Bengal’s most painful chapters. Here is everything to know about the releases, reviews, and box office predictions.

‘Baaghi 4’ cast
The fourth instalment of the ‘Baaghi’ franchise features a powerful line-up. Alongside Tiger Shroff, the film stars Sanjay Dutt, Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu, and Sonam Bajwa in key roles. With advance booking numbers already showing strength, this action-packed entertainer is expected to perform even better than its earlier chapters.

‘The Bengal Files’ cast

‘The Bengal Files’ comes with a stellar ensemble. Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumaar, and Simratt Kaur headline the project. With such experienced performers, the film promises to deliver a deeply moving cinematic journey.

‘Baaghi 4’ plot
The plot of ‘Baaghi 4’ takes a darker and more emotional turn than earlier films in the series. The story follows Ronnie, who survives a horrific train accident. Guilt and grief weigh him down, pushing him into destructive behaviour. As his mental health declines, he finds it difficult to separate reality from hallucination. But when a hidden truth begins to emerge, Ronnie is drawn into an emotionally charged and dangerous battle. Directed by A. Harsha, making his Hindi debut, the film combines gritty action with intense emotions, bringing a fresh depth to Tiger Shroff’s character. The Central Board of Film Certification has handed the film an ‘A’ certificate because of its ultra-violent, blood-soaked action sequences.

The Bengal Files’ plot
‘The Bengal Files’ is a fictional drama inspired by events in Indian histoory and politics. It revisits the communal violence that shook Bengal in the 1940s. The film reflects on the tragic aftermath of Direct Action Day and the horrifying Noakhali riots.

This hard-hitting tale uncovers stories of betrayal, bloodshed, and survival during one of India’s darkest periods. With a runtime of 204 minutes (3 hours, 24 minutes and 32 seconds), the film holds nothing back. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has given it an ‘A’ certificate after a series of changes suggested by the Reviving Committee.

Baaghi 4’ Vs ‘The Bengal Files’: Advance booking trends
According to Sacnilk, ‘Baaghi 4’ has so far sold 2.23 lakh tickets across 9,892 shows, collecting an estimated Rs 5.54 crore. With blocked seats added, the Day 1 total is expected to climb to Rs 8.47 crore. ‘The Bengal Files’ is trailing in advance sales. The film has managed Rs 1.22 crore with blocked seats, and Rs 63.63 lakh without them.

Box office clash promises high drama ahead
With two very different films hitting the screens, the stage is set for a tense box office face-off. While ‘Baaghi 4’ is expected to draw the masses with high-octane action and Tiger Shroff’s appeal, ‘The Bengal Files’ looks ready to attract audiences seeking serious and thought-provoking cinema. It will be fascinating to see which film wins the audience’s hearts and the box office crown in the days to come.
