The BJP secured victory by a margin of 12,723 votes in the constituency. CPI(M)’s Miraj Alam Sekh finished third with 12,698 votes, while Congress and other smaller parties remained far behind. NOTA recorded 3,423 votes.Mangalkot (constituency no. 272) is located in Purba Bardhaman district and falls under the Bolpur Lok Sabha constituency. The constituency is predominantly rural and is known as an agricultural belt within the Bardhaman region.

BJP’s Shishir Ghosh and Congress’s Jagadish Dutta are the challengers in 2026. The TMC’s strong majority in 2021 suggests a comfortable defence, though BJP has been working to expand its base in the rural Bardhaman-Birbhum belt.
