Yash: ‘I just want to take a break’

Pan-India sensation Yash has finally addressed the growing curiosity surrounding his long absence from the silver screen since the 2022 blockbuster ‘K.G.F: Chapter 2’. Speaking at the prestigious CinemaCon 2026 in Las Vegas, the actor shared that his transition from a regional star to a global icon has necessitated a slower, more meticulous approach to filmmaking. With two of Indian cinema’s most anticipated projects, the gritty gangster drama ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’ and themagnum opus, ‘Ramayana’ on his plate, Yash emphasized that creating “world-class cinema” cannot be rushed. However, while fans are eager for his comeback, the actor also admitted that the sheer scale of these productions has him looking forward to some much-needed personal time.

Yash opens up about taking a short break after his films

During his recent interaction with Collider at CinemaCon 2026, Yash finally spoke about the long gap and the possibility of taking a break after completing his upcoming films. The actor honestly said, “It’s more like I just want to take a break. I’ve been working constantly on two films.”Yash acknowledged how his fans have missed him on-screen since 2022 but clarified that his current trajectory demands significant patience and commitment. He stated that because his upcoming projects are designed for a global stage, they require an elevated level of meticulous planning and intensive collaboration.

Yash opens up on his busy schedule

During the same interaction, Yash also made it clear that he has not been idle despite staying away from theatres. “Though it looks like I have not been on screen for a while, I’m constantly working,” he shared during the interview. The actor talked about how much harder it is to shoot movies like ‘Ramayana’ because of the high level of technology, costumes, preparation, and special effects required. He also discussed his own work-life balance. Speaking about family time, Yash said, “I’m somehow managing family time,” and added, “Maybe I would want to spend some quality time with my family, so I would probably take a break.”

‘Toxic’ and ‘Ramayana’ set to be Yash’s biggest projects

On the professional front, Yash is currently focused on two ambitious films. Fans are eagerly waiting for ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups,’ directed by Geetu Mohandas. The film also stars Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, and Huma Qureshi in important roles. Thereafter, Yash will be seen in ‘Ramayana,’ which Nitesh Tiwari has written, directed, and shot, playing the demonic Ravana opposite Ranbir and Sai. The movie is a two-part series and will be released in 2026 and 2027 during Diwali. Go to Source
