The success of the blockbuster spy thriller ‘Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge’ has brought a wave of nostalgia for one of television’s most beloved actors. Dilip Joshi, iconic for his portrayal of Jethalal in ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’, recently took a walk down memory lane to celebrate his long-time friend and co-star, Rakesh Bedi. While Rakesh Bedi is currently winning hearts as Jameel Jamaali in the Aditya Dhar-directed franchise, Joshi fondly remembered their time together on the 1998 sitcom ‘Hum Sab Ek Hain.’Notably, the Rakesh Bedi starrer ‘Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge’ continues to maintain a steady run at the box office. The Aditya Dhar-directed spy thriller has sustained audience interest even after completing 44 days in theatres.Recently, Dilip Joshi recalled his experience working with Rakesh Bedi in the 1998 sitcom ‘Hum Sab Ek Hain’. While speaking to IANS about his friend Rakesh’s success as Jameel Jamaali from Aditya Dhar’s franchise ‘Dhurandhar’, Dilip said, “Today, the entire world appreciates his work, and I am too small to speak about Rakeshji.”

Dilip Joshi praises Rakesh Bedi’s long-standing career

Dilip Joshi went on to acknowledge Rakesh Bedi’s long-standing contribution to the entertainment industry. He described him as a seasoned performer with consistent talent over the years. “He is such a senior actor and has been a part of the industry for many years. He is a very talented actor. He has always done good work and will continue to do so,” he added.

Memories from ‘Hum Sab Ek Hain’ days in 1998

Dilip Joshi also shared nostalgic memories from ‘Hum Sab Ek Hain’, the 1998 situational comedy centered around a joint family and built around themes of national integration. He recalled how the show brought together actors who were still establishing themselves in the industry. “During Hum Sab Ek Hain, Rakesh ji was already a very big star, yet he was extremely humble. When we worked together in 1998, he never made anyone feel that he was such a legendary artist or such a big star. We were all quite new at the time, and we worked together like a team,” he added.

‘Dhurandhar 2’ maintains strong box office run

Meanwhile, ‘Dhurandhar 2’ had a long, uninterrupted run earlier, but it is now facing increasing competition from new releases across regional, national, and international markets. At present, Ritesh Deshmukh’s ‘Raja Shivaji’ has moved ahead in box office performance due to its strong response in both Marathi and Hindi versions. Despite this shift in competition, ‘Dhurandhar 2’ reportedly collected over Rs 1785 crore gross worldwide on Friday as reported by Sacnilk.
