‘War 2’ slips below 1 crore, Param Sundari leads Saturday

'War 2' box office collection day 17: Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani starrer falls short of Rs 1 crore again, while 'Param Sundari' takes lead on Saturday

Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani starrer high-octane action drama ‘War 2’ has entered its third week. Though the beginning of the week saw its first major crash, where the movie only minted Rs. 65 L net across the domestic market, it showed some growth on Saturday. According to Sacnilk, it saw a rise of 47.69 per cent, yet missed the Rs. 1 crore mark by a whisker. The movie tried to maintain its grip at the box office amid fresh competition from Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor’s rom-com ‘Param Sundari.’

‘War 2’ box office collection day 17 update

As mentioned earlier, with a rise of over 47 percent, the movie saw a significant increase in its collection. On Saturday, it generated a business of Rs. 96 lakh in the Hindi language, according to rough data collected by Sacnilk. With this, the total collection of ‘War 2’ in India stands at Rs. 232.86 crore. Though the latest rom-com and the old rival ‘Coolie’ stand as tough competition, the movie is expected to reach the Rs. 1 crore threshold on Sunday.

The Param Sundari impact

The debut of ‘Param Sundari’ seems to have impacted the earnings of ‘War 2.’ Though the rom-com was expected to go beyond Rs 10 crore on its opening day, it collected Rs 7.25 Friday. Yet, it did impact the business of ‘War 2.’ On its day 2, i.e. Saturday, Siddharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor starrer performed better, earning over Rs. 9 crore, taking the tally to Rs. 16.25 crore.

War 2 vs Coolie

As of Day 17, Rajinikanth’s ‘Coolie’ crossed Rs 275 crore net.
