Ameesha hits back at Zakir for claiming Bollywood was jealous of ‘Dhurandhar 2

Ameesha Patel hits back at Zakir Khan for claiming Bollywood was jealous of ‘Dhurandhar 2’: 'Aapko kisne call karke bataya?'

Comedian Zakir Khan recently took a dig at the industry at an awards show and said that people were jealous of ‘Dhurandhar 2’. He said, “Bomb phoote Lyaare mein, dhuaan uttha Bandra se Juhu mein.” This comment did not go down well with many as director Siddharth Anand, actor Ameesha Patel and others reacted to it. Ameesha took to social media, shared a photo of Zakir from the event and wrote, “DUDE, Stop spreading NEGATIVITY! The film industry has valued and respected DHURANDHAR! Superstars like SRK, SALMAN, SUNNY, HRITHIK, AJAY, etc., have given not just one but 25-plus mega hits and will continue to do so 👍 CHILL, GADAR bahut saalon se sabne already machai hai, aur aage bhi machaayenge 👍”Meanwhile, now in a recent interview, she elaborated further on it. She slammed comedians who make jokes on public figures and achievers. When asked about Zakir’s comment, she said in an interview with Bollywood Bubble, “Khade rehke achievers ke baare mein baat karna aasan hai. Achiever banke toh dikhaao, superstar banke dikhaao. I don’t think it’s correct to strip someone down and make a joke on them. In logon ko achieve karke toh dikhaane do. Aapne statement aisa kaha, industry jal rahi hai. Did someone call you and say that Dhurandhar hit hogayi aur main insecure ho raha hu? Aapko kaise pataa. (It’s easy to stand on a platform and make fun of achievers. First you achieve something. He made a statement that the industry is jealous. Did someone call him and say that they are jealous or insecure?)Ameesha added further, “Ulta Dhurandhar ke aane ki wajah se people have said that we need to learn, people like Ram Gopal Varma. People put stories to praise the film. Actors are reworking their films because they feel we need to match up to a standard now and the audience is expecting better. Is competition bad? Agar hum competition ko praise nai karenge, how will we improve? We don’t want to get complacent. We need someone to come in and pull up the socks. So, how does it make us insecure? It just makes us learn. Main jaannaa chaahti hu aise kaun 10 log Hai jinhone inko call karke kaha that they are jealous? (Infact, because of ‘Dhurandhar’, people are learning and trying to make their films better. I want to know who are those ten people who called him and told him they are feeling jealous).” The ‘Gadar’ actress further said that comedians should find other things to make jokes on and not public figures. “I don’t watch stand-up of Indian comedians because they rip people off. If you build your career based on making money by putting others down is not right. Maine apne career mein actors, so called rivals ko kabhi neecha nahi kiya hai. I have never spoken badly about them. That’s my policy. There’s so much in the world to talk about. Mock yourself, don’t mock others, especially when you are pulling down public figures who have achieved,” she said.
