According to prosecutor Rizwan Amin, “In the early hours of Sunday morning, April 19, ambulance services and police were called to Argyll Street for reports that a woman had been run over.” He further described the chaotic aftermath, stating, “The scene can only be described as lots of people shouting, it could be described as a melee, so to speak.” Carrington now faces multiple serious charges, including attempted murder, grievous bodily harm with intent, and dangerous driving. The court also heard that she was allegedly driving under the influence, reportedly close to twice the legal alcohol limit. Two additional individuals, including a security guard, were also injured during the incident, adding further weight to the prosecution’s case.During the hearing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, Carrington made headlines for an unexpected gesture, forming a heart sign toward her family while being remanded in custody. The moment quickly sparked discussion online, with many questioning her demeanor given the gravity of the allegations.District Judge Nina Tempia ordered that Carrington remain in custody until her next appearance at the Old Bailey on May 19. No pleas have been entered so far. Meanwhile, legal authorities have urged restraint in public commentary to ensure a fair trial, as the case continues to unfold under intense scrutiny.
