Breaking News: Massive Landslide in Jammu & Kashmir’s Ramban: 3 Dead, 4 Missing, Rescue Ops Underway | ABP NEWS

A tragic landslide struck the Rajgarh area of Ramban district in Jammu & Kashmir, claiming the lives of three individuals while four others remain missing. The disaster occurred following relentless rainfall across the region, which has triggered multiple landslides and flash floods. The incident took place near the Chenab River in a mountainous terrain where several homes were affected as a large section of the hill collapsed. According to reports, rescue teams from SDRF, NDRF, and local authorities are on-site, working round the clock to locate the missing and provide immediate relief. So far, three bodies have been recovered, but the search continues. Due to the mountainous geography, evacuation and rescue operations remain challenging. District administration had earlier issued alerts for sensitive zones, and thousands had already been evacuated. However, scattered settlements across high-risk zones are still vulnerable. The Meteorological Department has warned of continued heavy rainfall in the coming days, prompting authorities to urge residents to relocate from high-risk areas immediately. Temporary shelters and emergency aid are being provided to affected families. While damage assessment is ongoing, authorities confirm that several homes have been washed away. The situation remains tense, and preventive evacuations are underway.
