POLITICS: BJP Recalls “Pattern of Abuse”, Accuses Congress of Crossing All Limits of Decency

A high-level Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) delegation filed a formal complaint with the Election Commission of India (ECI) today following inflammatory remarks by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. During a campaign event in Tamil Nadu, Kharge reportedly labeled Prime Minister Narendra Modi a “terrorist,” triggering immediate nationwide backlash from the ruling party. The delegation, featuring prominent leaders including Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, Party General Secretary Arun Singh, and Om Pathak, condemned the rhetoric in the strongest terms. They argued that such a characterization is not merely a political attack but a direct assault on the dignity of the Prime Minister’s office and the 140 crore citizens of India. The BJP is urging the ECI to take “exemplary action” against Kharge for violating the Model Code of Conduct, asserting that such vitriol poisons the democratic process and incites public animosity.
