Janhit: TMC MP Mahua Moitra Sparks Outrage with Controversial Remark on Amit Shah | ABP NEWS

Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra has ignited a major political storm after a video surfaced of her making an extremely controversial statement against Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Speaking in Bengali during a public interaction in Nadia on August 26, Moitra allegedly said Shah’s “head should be placed on the table before the Prime Minister.” The remark is being widely condemned as violent and extremist. The BJP has demanded Moitra’s expulsion from TMC and called on the Supreme Court to take suo motu cognizance of the statement. Social media erupted with comparisons of her language to that used by terrorists, with many labeling it as “Talibani” and “urban Naxal” rhetoric. This incident follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Independence Day address, where he raised concerns over illegal infiltration, seen as a veiled critique of West Bengal’s governance. Moitra’s remarks have now shifted the political discourse from border security to one of hate speech and political decency. Mahua Moitra, known for her fiery speeches, has previously faced suspension from the Lok Sabha and controversy over statements about religious figures. This latest episode may have lasting legal and political consequences for her and the TMC.
