All-India distribution rights of SRK’s King sold for Rs 250 crore: Report

All-India distribution rights of Shah Rukh Khan's 'King' acquired for Rs 250 crore by Pen Marudhar: Report

Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘King’ is easily one of the most anticipated Indian films in recent times. Mounted on a massive budget of Rs 400 crores, the action spectacle boasts a star-studded cast including Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Suhana Khan, Abhay Verma and Arshad Warsi, among others. The film is slated for a grand theatrical release during the Christmas 2026 weekend, with sky-high expectations riding on it. The film’s release date was confirmed a few months ago. As per a latest report by Bollywood Hungama, Pen Marudhar has secured the all-India theatrical distribution rights of ‘King’ for a whopping Rs 250 crores. This deal stands out as one of the biggest of the year, which comes as no surprise given Shah Rukh Khan’s immense box office draw. “Pen Marudhar have acquired the theatrical distribution rights of King for a sum of Rs 250 crores. The distributor has a long standing association with Shah Rukh Khan’s banner, having released films like Jawan, Dunki, Zero, Badla, Ittefaq and many more,” a trade source shared with the portal. ‘King’ is expected to face competition at the box office, as it releases alongside major Hollywood titles like ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, ‘Dune 3’ and ‘Jumanji’ during the busy festive window. “Shah Rukh Khan was looking for a strong distribution partner to navigate the competitive window, and he is looking at a wide theatrical release in the month of December all across the country.”’King’ is directed by Siddharth Anand who had earlier made Rs ‘Pathaan’ with the actor.
