‘Param Sundari’ box office collection day 1 (LIVE)

'Param Sundari' box office collection day 1 (LIVE): The Sidharth Malhotra, Janhvi Kapoor has a slow start, expected to touch Rs 10 crore

‘Param Sundari’ released today, August 29 in theatres and it has a slow start in the morning shows. With Ganesh Chaturthi going on, along with rains in full swing, it’s rare that people will venture out to watch a film. Thus, the film had a slow start in the morning shows. But just as the advance bookings began, within the first 24 hours, ‘Param Sundari’ had sold 10,000 tickets across BookMYShow and District apps for the opening day. Recently we saw how a love story like ‘Saiyaara’ hit the ball out of the park at the box office. In that spirit, one expects ‘Param Sundari’ also to appeal to the audience, if it is a well made movie by director Tushal Jalota. The early reviews of the film which are there on social media on Friday morning also seem promising. On Day 1, Friday, till the afternoon shows, the Sidharth Malhotra, Janhvi Kapoor movie has made Rs 2.35 crore according to Sacnilk. If it grows in the evening shows, it is expected to touch the Rs 10 crore mark or might end up in the range of Rs 6-7 crore. ‘Param Sundari’ has opened fairly well at the box office, giving it a positive start. While the numbers aren’t huge, they are strong enough to avoid the risk of a weak first day, which often makes recovery difficult. With this start, the film has the chance to grow over the weekend if the content connects with audiences. Its opening looks slightly better than ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’, a film in a similar space that released last year. That film managed to perform well eventually, and if ‘Param Sundari’ follows a similar path, it too could emerge with solid results.Another advantage for the film is the lack of any major new releases this week. The holdover films are almost at the end of their theatrical runs, though fresh titles arriving next week will bring in competition.Day India Net Collection Day 1 [1st Friday] ₹ 2.35 Cr ** Total ₹ 2.35 Cr
