Nobody except President Trump knows why Bondi was fired, says replacement Todd Blanche in first press conference

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said he has no idea why Pam Bondi was fired.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche held his first press conference after President Donald Trump fired Pam Bondi last week and said he has no idea why Bondi was fired. But he said he would love to be the permanent Attorney General if the president decides; it would be an honor, he said. Pam Bondi was supposed to be in her position for the transition period but the press conference by Todd Blanche hinted that Bondi probably is already on her way out — unceremoniously. “Nobody has any idea why the attorney general is no longer the attorney general and I’m the acting attorney general, except for President Trump,” Blanche said.“I don’t operate every day trying to second guess what President Trump or anybody else is thinking. I just operate every day on doing everything that I need to do to execute the president’s agenda and priorities,” Blanche said at the press conference called to outline anti-fraud plans. “I grow tired of people in the media saying why President Trump did or did not do something, because President Trump’s the only one that knows that.”“If President Trump chooses to keep me as acting, that’s an honor. If he chooses to nominate me, that’s an honor. If he chooses to nominate somebody else and I go back to being the DAG, that’s an honor,” Blanche said. “If he chooses to nominate somebody else and asks me to go do something else, I will say, ‘Thank you very much. I love you, sir.’”Bondi, it is believed, was fired as Trump was not happy with the way the Department of Justice dealt with the Epstein Files. Trump wanted the department to go after his enemies more aggressively. Blanche, in an interview with Fox earlier, said he never heard the president to day that Bondi was fired because of the Epstein Files. “The Epstein files has been a saga that’s lasted for the past year. And what happened when the president signed the transparency act is that the Department of Justice has now released all the files with respect to the Epstein saga,” Blanche said
