Rakesh’s sharp REACTION to Nabeel Gabol’s lookalike claim

'My father did not go to Pakistan', 'Dhurandhar' star Rakesh Bedi's sharp REACTION to Nabeel Gabol's 'lookalike' claim

Pakistani politician Nabeel Gabol claimed Dhurandhar’s Jameel Jamali was him; trolled as Indian agent in Part 2. Bedi on Lallantop: “I love you too, but no direct inspiration—writers’ vision.” Film nears Rs 1000cr, Bollywood’s first.

Pakistani politician Nabeel Gabol alleged that the character Jameel Jamali was inspired by him and fired off several questions about the movie ‘Dhurandhar’. Rakesh Bedi recently responded to these assertions during an interview. His character Jameel Jamali proved to be a real crowd-pleaser. Bedi’s performance, along with the film’s exciting twists, drew massive social media buzz.

Rakesh Bedi’s character in ‘Dhurandhar’

Following the release of ‘Dhurandhar Part 1’, Nabeel, a leader from Lyari, Pakistan, claimed the character Jameel Jamali was based on him. He was portrayed humorously, but real life was different. However, Nabeel reacted again after the release of ‘Dhurandhar Part 2’. In the sequel, Jameel Jamali is revealed as an Indian agent. Indian social media users severely trolled him following this revelation. Therefore, the film upset Nabeel Gabol so much that he became agitated and issued numerous statements. Now, after the Pakistani leader’s remarks, Bedi has reacted to his character and the claims by the poliician.

Rakesh Bedi’s reply to Nabeel Gabol

On The Lallantop, Rakesh Bedi addressed Nabeel Gabol’s allegations. Hosts noted the Pakistani leader dubs himself “Dhurandhar Wale Jameel Jamali” and voiced unhappiness with his on-screen image—yet still told Bedi, “I love you.” Responding to those words, the actor shared, “I would like to say, ‘I love you, Nabeel Gabol.'”He added, “I love you very much, and it’s a coincidence that I resemble you a little bit. But I can’t help it. Neither your father came to India, nor my father went to Pakistan. But aside from our looks, we look alike; we have a slight heaviness in our bodies, which makes us look alike. I even wore similar clothes in the film, so we looked alike. Other than that there is no similarity between me and him. My character is not based on Nabeel Gobal. Jameel Jamali is inspired by many such politicians in Pakistan.”According to Rakesh, Jameel Jamali draws from the creative input of the writers and Aditya Dhar, not a direct lift from Nabeel Gabol. The Lyari backdrop made the character mirror Gabol somewhat; he’s a big name there, with election wins under his belt. Bedi stressed, though, that his portrayal wasn’t just Gabol in disguise.
