Military Update: A-10 Warthog in Focus as Iran-US Conflict Deepens with Jet Claims and Ceasefire Rejection

As the war between the United States and Iran enters its 36th day, attention has turned to the capabilities of the US A-10 Warthog fighter jet amid Iran’s claims of downing multiple aircraft. The A-10 Warthog is known for its effectiveness in supporting ground troops and destroying tanks and armored vehicles. It is equipped with a powerful 30mm Gatling gun capable of firing 3,900 rounds per minute, features strong pilot protection with titanium armor, and can operate even with one engine or from rough runways. It can carry up to 16,000 pounds of weapons and is valued for its precision targeting at low speeds. Iran claims it has targeted several US aircraft, including F-15, A-10, and helicopters, within 24 hours. However, the United States Central Command has denied these claims, stating all aircraft are accounted for. Donald Trump said such incidents would not impact ongoing talks. Meanwhile, reports indicate one US pilot is safe while another remains missing, and a 48-hour ceasefire proposal by the US has reportedly been rejected by Iran.
