‘Param Sundari’ advance box office day 1

'Param Sundari' advance box office day 1: The Sidharth Malhotra, Janhvi Kapoor film expected to open at Rs 10 crore on Friday

Amidst all the Ganesh Chaturthi festivities, we have a romcom releasing this Friday, August 29, in the form of ‘Param Sundari’. The film starring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor has generated a lot of buzz. Largely, the songs of the movie, especially ‘Pardesiya’ and ‘Bheegi Saari’ have been liked by the audience as they promise the vibe of 90s with voices like Sonu Nigam, Adnan Sami and Shreya Ghoshal. Apart from good music which is essential for a romcom, the early reviews also seem decent. As far as the advance bookings are concerned, the film is expected to have a decent opening day number. But eventually, it may grow due to positive word of mouth if the audience really likes the film. If not, the film may just see a drop. Recently we saw how a love story like ‘Saiyaara’ hit the ball out of the park at the box office. In that spirit, one expects ‘Param Sundari’ also to appeal to the audience, if it is a well made movie by director Tushal Jalota.

Janhvi Kapoor defends her half-Tamilian, half-Malayali role amid ‘Param Sundari’ accent backlash

Within the first 24 hours, ‘Param Sundari’ had sold 10,000 tickets across BookMYShow and District apps for the opening day. But largely for a movie like this, there is a larger walk-in audience. Thus, the trade experts, according to Sacnilk, expect more tickets sold by Friday afternoon. The advance bookings opened on August 26. Meanwhile, the opening day number of around Rs 10 crore can be expected from the movie at the moment, based on the advances. However, it’s the Saturday and Sunday numbers which will play a major role. The film is expected to see a jump and for that, positive reviews will be crucial. Not to mention, at the moment, there’s not much competition from any other movie at the box office. The big releases ‘War 2’ and ‘Coolie’ are now beginning to fizzle out as they complete two weeks in cinemas. Meanwhile, it’s ‘Mahavtar Narsimha’ which is still luring the audience. But as ‘Param Sundari’ will release, the number of shows of ‘Mahavtar Narsimha’ will reduce. It clearly is an open ground now for ‘Param Sundari’, thus the film is expected to perform well.

Which song from ‘Param Sundari’ are you most excited about?

Sidharth Malhotra is back on the big screen with Param Sundari, a romantic comedy co-starring Janhvi Kapoor. Directed by Tushar Jalota, the film has been steadily building momentum thanks to its trailers and hit songs that have struck a chord with audiences online.Unlike high-octane action films, romantic comedies generally don’t rely heavily on advance bookings. Instead, they gain traction through walk-in audiences and strong word of mouth. With recent successes of love stories at the box office, ‘Param Sundari’ could benefit from the current mood of the audience.A double-digit start for the film would not only mark an impressive beginning but also rank among the strongest openings for both Sidharth and Janhvi as a lead pair.
