Ganguly’s biopic title and production update

The film is titled ‘Dada’. Rajkummar Rao shared the news on Instagram on Wednesday evening and confirmed that shooting is underway. “And it begins… The one and only #DADA,” he wrote in the caption. Rajkummar Rao’s transformation for Sourav Ganguly’s role

The film has also stayed in the news due to Rao’s physical transformation. In February, his changed appearance sparked concern among fans after he appeared at an event with visible weight gain and a different hairstyle. He later addressed the speculation and clarified that the change was for the role.“For Nikam I had to gain around 9-10 kgs and I was eating 2 pizzas and lot of sweets and my fav Aloo Parathas, Biryani and to not use anything glam to look like the part,” Rao shared. He explained that the transformation was part of preparing for the Ganguly biopic. “Hopefully when you will see the film which will be releasing soon you will be able to see all that hardwork in the film. And now it’s the transition phase and time to lose these extra kgs and get ready to slip into Ganguly mode. Our very own Dada,” read a portion of his post. The film will trace Sourav Ganguly’s rise from a young cricketer to a defining captain of Indian cricket. With filming now underway and a confirmed title, ‘Dada’ has taken a clear step toward release.
