Bollywood superstar Salman Khan on Tuesday, made a rare appearance at the President Cup 2026 event at the Dadoji Konddev Stadium in Thane. The actor was invited to the grand event, where he joined CM Eknath Shinde. Khan arrived at the event with a security convoy, however, the security team in place seemed to have found it hard to control the huge crowds that gathered, wanting to meet the star. Videos circulating on social media show the actor being surrounded by a large crowd as he made his way off the stage, with fans attempting to get close and take photographs.Salman Khan mobbed by fans Despite the presence of security personnel, the footage shows the uniformed men struggling to keep the men at arm’s length and give Salman space to move. The security team was seen pushing the men aside as they tried to reach out to the actor. Interestingly, amid the chaos, Salman was seen keeping calm and smiling despite appearing to be surrounded by fans on all sides. Videos also show the actor leaving with a convoy of police cars, however, the security team was seen struggling to keep people away from Khan’s car. Several men were seen with their phones out, trying to take photos of Salman as he made his exit. However, some were seen getting too close and leaning against his car window to get a better photo of the actor. Fans alarmed over Salman Khan’s securityThe visuals quickly triggered reactions online, with several fans criticising the apparent lapse in security. One user wrote, “#SalmanKhan gets completely mobbed by fans but one thing is missing the security. After all the threats, this looks risky.”Another said, “Y security is not enough for him.”Salman Khan’s security tightened amid death threatsThe incident comes amid discussions around Khan’s safety following multiple death threats reported over the past years. It also follows a firing incident outside his residence in 2024, which had raised concerns about his security arrangements.At the time, Chief Minister Shinde had publicly assured support for the actor. “I have also spoken with Salman Khan. I have told him that the Government is with him and he need not worry…,” he said in an address to the media.Salman Khan announces next film On the work front, Nayanthara has joined the cast of Salman’s upcoming action film with director Vamshi Paidipally. A day after Salman announced his new project with the South director, the makers announced the onboarding of Nayanthara in the film. “The Queen Arrives. The epitome of versatility and excellence NAYANTHARA joins Salman Khan-Vamshi Paidipally Film. It’s an honour to have you on board for something truly special that’s underway,” read the official post.This marks the second project of the actress in Bollywood after she made her debut with Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Jawan’ in 2023.
