Shah also flagged infiltration as a key issue, asserting that Bengal remained the primary route for illegal entry into the country after stricter controls in neighbouring Assam. The senior BJP leader highlighted the party’s organisational push in the state, praising Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari for raising issues such as economic distress, disorder and alleged governance failures during his statewide outreach.West Bengal is scheduled to vote in two phases on April 23 and April 29, covering 294 constituencies, with counting set for May 4. The duelling chargesheets are expected to form a central plank of campaign rhetoric as both parties vie to influence voters in a closely watched electoral contest.
