'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone': First teaser brings Harry, Ron and Hermione back to Hogwarts

The Wizarding world is set for a fresh retelling, with an all-new cast picking up their wands. HBO on Thursday released the first teaser trailer for its highly anticipated series titled ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’. The teaser introduces a brand new cast, led by Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, alongside Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. The trailer revisits several key moments from the original story, beginning with Harry’s life under the stairs at the Dursleys’ home before he receives his Hogwarts acceptance letter. It follows his meeting with Hagrid, his journey through Platform 9¾, and his first meeting with Hermione and Ron aboard the Hogwarts Express, as they embark on their first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

About the ‘Harry Potter’ web series

The show is said to be a reimagining of JK Rowling’s iconic ‘Harry Potter’ saga, with the debut web series, centred on the first novel. The upcoming adaptation follows the original 2001 film directed by Chris Columbus, which first brought the story to the big screen. The web series will reportedly offer fans of the franchise, a more detailed exploration of the books.
