The beloved ‘Aadu’ series returns with ‘Aadu 3’, featuring a time travel twist and a significant budget. The film has garnered Rs 32.25 crore net in India and Rs 29 crore overseas in its first week, totaling Rs 66.28 crore worldwide.

Its India gross stands at Rs 37.28 crore as reported by the Sacnilk website. Overseas, the film has performed strongly with Rs 29.00 crore in gross collections. and this pushes the total worldwide gross to Rs 66.28 crore in seven days.

Weekend boost

The film witnessed strong growth over its first weekend. On Day 3, which was Saturday, it collected Rs 7.15 crore with an impressive 74% occupancy. Day 4, Sunday, remained steady with Rs 7.10 crore and similar occupancy levels.

Weekday drop after strong start

Following the weekend, ‘Aadu 3’ saw a noticeable drop in collections. On Day 5 (Monday), the film earned Rs 3.30 crore. Day 6 (Tuesday) collections dipped further to Rs 2.45 crore. Occupancy levels also declined sharply during weekdays.

Big budget and unique concept

Directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas, ‘Aadu 3’ is unique as unlike the earlier parts, this installment introduces a time travel element and was mounted as a high-budget production.

Producer Vijay Babu opened up about the film’s financials at a post-release event. He revealed that the budget was closely aligned with its opening weekend performance.Vijay Babu stated that nearly 70 percent of the total budget was recovered through the first weekend gross. Speaking about the initial response, he highlighted the importance of early collections and noted that the film earned over Rs 2 crore in gross during that period.Vijay Babu also credited the audience for the film’s steady run. As quoted by On Manorama, he acknowledged the risks involved in releasing the film under uncertain conditions, “What really gave me confidence was the trust Venu had in the project. He understood the situation in the UAE during the US-Israel-Iran conflict and assured me that the government would stand by its people. That reassurance played a key role in our decision to release the film.”The coming weekend will be important for the film.
