Karan Johar hugs Yami Gautam at an event, netizens react

Karan Johar hugs Yami Gautam at an event amidst 'Dhurandhar 2' success, calls her one of his favourite actors, netizens react

A video of Karan Johar hugging Yami Gautam at an event has gone viral on the internet. This event took place a few days ago and it was to announce the slate of Amazon Prime Video’s projects this year. The two were seen embracing before unveiling the poster of Yami’s upcoming horror-comedy Nayyi Navelli, which is slated to stream after its theatrical release on the platform. Adding to the moment, Johar introduced Yami as one of his “favourite actors,” further fueling conversations about a shift in their equation. This video gained attention due to some alleged fall out in the past between the two. Karan Johar had skipped the screening of Dhurandhar: The Revenge—an event attended by several prominent industry figures and members of the film’s team. However, in the wake of the film’s success, Johar has openly praised Aditya Dhar on social media, hinting at a possible thaw in relations. Netizens alleged that earlier Karan along with Malaika Arora and Kirron Kher had ignored Yami when she appeared on the show they were judging. Clips from the event quickly went viral, prompting mixed responses from netizens. One X user wrote, “Damn !! What Karma Strikes !! They Karan Johar, @MalaikaArora @KirronKherBJP ignored @yamigautam !! Now Karan Johar talking and hugging her .”Some even alleged that Karan Johar had not invited Yami Gautam on ‘Koffee With Karan’ when Hrithik Roshan was on the show to promote ‘Kaabil’. Another comment read, “The best thing about time is that time changes! Apparently, Karan johar didn’t invite Yami to his show because according to him she’s not big enough and doesn’t stand among the league of stars to be invited to his show. So he extended the invite to Hrithik only & excluded yam.”However, Yami has never really spoken about Karan or any of these incidents. Meanwhile, Karan Johar had earlier praised ‘Dhurandhar’ and now even expressed that he’s feeling major Fomo for not being able to watch ‘Dhurandhar 2’. The film-maker had expressed on his Instagram stories, “I am filming in a location that has no access to a cinema and am suffering from FOMO – Dhurandhar FOMO. I can’t wait to watch it,” he wrote. He also praised the strong support the film has received from the industry, adding, “It’s so heartening to see the united love for an Indian film.”
