Bieber and Usher reportedly argued at Oscars after-party

Justin Bieber and Usher clashed at the Oscars 2026 after-party? Here's what we know about the old collaborators' feud

A star-studded Oscars after-party, packed wall-to-wall with Hollywood’s biggest stars, reportedly took an unexpected turn when rumors of a blow-up between Justin Bieber and Usher started making the rounds. These two used to be the gold standard for mentor-protégé relationships in pop music, so news of their shouting match left fans reeling. What actually went down?

Justin Bieber and Usher’s rumored clash

Per Entertainment Weekly, the whole thing happened at Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s invite-only bash at the Chateau Marmont, exactly the kind of place where every major name in entertainment shows up. Usher reportedly walked up to Bieber with a kind of energy that definitely wasn’t friendly, and the two ended up in a pretty heated argument. It didn’t get physical, but guests say it was intense enough to turn heads all across the room. No cops, no security, just a lot of awkward glances and whispers.Everybody who’s anybody was there: Justin’s wife Hailey Bieber, Michael B. Jordan (fresh off his Best Actor win), Teyana Taylor, Timothée Chalamet, Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce, and the whole Jenner crew. So yeah, there was no way an argument like that would stay secret.

Justin Bieber and Usher’s equation over the years

According to EW, back in 2008, Bieber was just a kid singing for YouTube. When Scooter Braun introduced him to Usher, everything changed. Usher didn’t just help Bieber land a record deal; he basically showed him how to be a star. They performed together, dropped hits like ‘Somebody to Love’, and always seemed genuinely tight, almost like family. For a long time, Usher was more than a collaborator. He was a mentor, a protector, the guy who had Bieber’s back. However, somewhere along the line, things started to shift. In 2024, Bieber turned down Usher’s invitation to join his Super Bowl halftime show. Usher played it cool, telling everyone there weren’t any hard feelings, but people noticed. He told The Breakfast Club that he’d talked to Bieber about the show, but Bieber wanted to take his career in a different direction. “We’ll do something else in the future, no love lost,” Usher said, but it still felt like something had changed.Behind the scenes, people noticed Bieber pulling away; not just from Usher, but from other old collaborators too. In 2025, fans spotted that he’d even unfollowed Usher on social media, which only poured fuel on the fire. Now, neither Bieber nor Usher has said anything about what happened at the Oscars party. Bieber’s focused on getting ready for his big Coachella set this spring. He’s been telling fans to watch him on Twitch while he preps, promising behind-the-scenes moments and “a hell of a show.” He sounds excited, and honestly, he doesn’t seem too bothered by the drama. “This is our space for the next few months,” he said. “I’m gonna be putting on a hell of a show for you guys at Coachella. I can’t wait.” Go to Source
