A new housing package worth AED4.21 billion has been approved in Abu Dhabi, bringing support to 2,652 Emirati citizens just ahead of Eid Al Fitr 2026, in a move aimed at strengthening family stability and improving living standards across the emirate. The package, approved by H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, follows directives from President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in his capacity as Ruler of Abu Dhabi. The allocation is spread across multiple housing support programmes. Housing loans form the largest share, with AED2.1 billion set aside for 1,415 citizens.

Ready-built housing grants account for AED1.82 billion, benefiting 914 citizens, while residential land grants worth AED144 million have been allocated to 185 citizens. In addition, AED142 million has been approved in exemptions from housing loan repayments. This support is directed towards 138 beneficiaries, including senior citizens, retirees with limited income, and the families of deceased citizens. The timing of the package, announced ahead of Eid Al Fitr, reflects a continued focus on easing financial pressures on families while supporting long-term housing needs. It also aligns with broader efforts to ensure that citizens have access to suitable housing that meets modern standards and personal aspirations.Officials have described the initiative as part of an ongoing commitment to enhancing quality of life and ensuring social stability for Emirati families. The programme is also positioned within wider development goals, where access to housing is seen as a key factor in building cohesive and sustainable communities. The Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, which oversees the implementation of such programmes, continues to refine its services to improve accessibility and streamline support for citizens. Efforts remain focused on making housing solutions more efficient and responsive to evolving needs.Since its establishment, the authority has delivered housing benefits to more than 132,000 citizens, with total support exceeding AED181 billion, highlighting the scale of long-term investment in housing across the emirate.
