‘KPop Demon Hunters’ may just be gearing up for an epic global tour after their phenomenal success at the Oscars and their record-breaking run on Netflix. As per the latest reports, the streaming giant is looking to expand the animated film’s success beyond screens and feature the girl group in a live show. According to Bloomberg, Netflix is said to be in early discussions with concert promoters to develop a live show featuring performances from the hit film. The proposed tour is expected to span dozens of major cities worldwide and is expected to kick off next year, ahead of a planned sequel – ‘KPop Demon Hunters 2’.The development comes after ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ struck gold at the Hollywood awards ceremonies, winning the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, while its song ‘Golden’ won the Oscar for Best Original Song. The film also scooped up the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards while the song became the first K-Pop track to win a Grammy. The film also became the streamer’s most-watched release following its debut in 2025.While a promoter has yet to be finalised, reports suggest the response to this plan has already received offers over millions of dollars in upfront guarantees. The film centres on K-Pop trio Huntrix, comprising of singers Rumi, Mira and Zoey, voiced by Arden Cho, May Hong and Ji-young Yoo. The girls balance their global stardom while secretly doubling up as demons hunters and keeping the realm safe through music. The film’s breakout track ‘Golden’, was performed by EJAE, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami. Following the Oscar win, EJAE, took to Instagram to pen a lengthy note of thanks saying, “From my bedroom in brooklyn, to performing at the oscars…to end this beautiful journey with an Oscar in our hands…words cannot describe the gratitude I feel for everyone who’s been apart of this long and unforgettable journey. To be able to share Korean culture on that stage was such an honor.””Thank you to the @theacademy for the recognition of our team’s hard work behind “Golden.” Congratulations to @nutmags @appelhansc @wongtangclan3 for winning “best animated feature” and thank you a million times for giving me the opportunity to write and sing for Rumi.
