The Middle East is witnessing a sharp escalation as Iran launches massive missile strikes on Israel following the assassination of Ali Larijani, head of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council. According to Iranian sources, the attacks targeted strategic locations in Tel Aviv, including intelligence offices, government buildings, and transport hubs. Iran claims that over 60 people were killed and more than 230 injured, although Israeli officials report significantly lower casualties. The strikes reportedly involved cluster munitions and advanced weaponry, including hypersonic missiles, marking one of the most intense rounds of conflict in recent years. This retaliatory campaign, termed “Operation Two Promise Four” by Iranian commanders, is being described as a decisive response to Larijani’s death, following previous tensions after the death of Ali Khamenei. Nearly 100 locations across Israel were reportedly hit in multiple rounds of missile launches overnight, spreading widespread panic and disrupting civilian life. Meanwhile, political dynamics within Iran are under scrutiny. President Masoud Pezeshkian has reportedly requested a meeting with Khamenei, triggering speculation about potential instability or leadership consolidation in Tehran. Conflicting reports regarding Khamenei’s health and whereabouts add further uncertainty. The situation remains highly fluid, with international observers closely monitoring developments. Analysts warn that these strikes could ignite a broader regional confrontation, raising the stakes for both Middle Eastern security and global diplomatic efforts.
