Nivin Pauly’s political thriller ‘Prathichaya’ is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on March 26. Directed by Unnikrishnan B, the film delves into the complexities of politics, power, and corruption. The trailer offers a glimpse into Nivin’s character navigating a tense political landscape, highlighting the struggle for power and the creation of public images.

Nivin Pauly’s upcoming political thriller ‘Prathichaya’ is set to release in theaters worldwide on March 26, with the actor confirming the date on social media as the film gears up for its big-screen launch later this month. Directed by Unnikrishnan B, the film appears to center its story on politics, power, corruption, and public image. The announcement has drawn fresh attention to the project, especially after the trailer offered a sharp look at Nivin’s character and the tense political world he navigates.

Prathichaya’s release date and cast

According to Mid-Day, Nivin Pauly shared the release update on social media and wrote, “A father’s legacy. A son’s destiny. Prathichaya arrives in cinemas on March 26. Written & Directed by Unnikrishnan B. Produced by Sree Gokulam Movies & RD Illuminations LLP.” The film stars Nivin Pauly in the lead and also features Sharf U Dheen and Balachandra Menon in key roles.

‘Prathichaya’ trailer highlights political power struggle

The trailer opens with a voice-over by Nivin Pauly that sets the tone for the film’s political and philosophical themes. He says, “You are all waiting to hear about my success story. But am I successful? Success can sometimes be defined by your designation or pay package. But is that really it? Were Gandhiji, Nehru, EMS and AKG successful men? Or were they failures?” As these lines play, the trailer shows protests, speeches, and political figures, pointing to a story rooted in public life and conflict. The visuals then suggest that Nivin plays a political strategist in a powerful leader’s inner circle. He explains the system in blunt terms, saying, “Cabinet formation is a web of equations. Caste, religion, powerful alliances with interests — our positions are determined by these very dynamics. Icons are built and destroyed based on market demands.” The trailer also hints at corruption and personal ambition. One politician tells him, “You are a corrupting force.” He answers, “Like you have nothing to do with corruption.”Another moment in the trailer highlights the struggle for power, with a politician saying there is talk that he will be removed from the chair that very day. The trailer drives home the film’s central idea with a striking line: “There are no individuals in politics, only images.” On the technical side, ‘Prathichaya’ features cinematography by Chandru Selvaraj, music by Justin Varghese, editing by Manoj, and production design by Shajie Naduvil.
