Mohanlal gets emotional at Blessy’s son’s wedding: 'Feels like my own son's wedding'

Veteran actor Mohanlal expressed deep emotion at filmmaker Blessy’s son’s wedding, stating it felt like his own son’s ceremony. He highlighted their enduring friendship, forged during Blessy’s early career. Their past collaborations on acclaimed films like ‘Thanmathra’ and ‘Bhramaram’ were also fondly recalled, underscoring their significant impact on Malayalam cinema.

Veteran actor Mohanlal recently shared heartfelt words about filmmaker Blessy while attending the wedding of Blessy’s son Adit. The wedding ceremony took place in the presence of several well-known personalities from the Malayalam film industry. Actors and artists such as Meera Jasmine, M. G. Sreekumar, Dileep, Vinayan, and Johny Antony were also present at the event. Speaking on the stage during the wedding celebration, Mohanlal spoke warmly about his close bond with Blessy and his family.

Mohanlal shares an emotional bond with director Blessy

During his speech, Mohanlal said that attending the wedding felt like a personal family celebration. As per India Today, he shared that he felt as happy as if his own son were getting married. The actor explained that he has a deep emotional connection with Blessy and his family that goes back many years. Mohanlal remembered knowing Blessy since the days when he was working as an assistant to the legendary filmmaker Padmarajan. The two of them have preserved their friendship since then and worked together on some outstanding films.

The actor also remembered how Blessy directed some of the most meaningful films of his career. The two collaborated on three of the best films, ‘Thanmathra’, ‘Bhramaram’, and ‘Pranayam’. These films are critically well-received. ‘Thanmathra’ and ‘Pranayam’ fetched state awards for the Best Director, and Mohanlal also bagged the Best Actor award for the movie ‘Thanmathra’. The movie also won the National Award for the Best Malayalam Film, and the performance of child artist Niveditha in Bhramaram’ won a National Award as well. The three films fetched several state awards, and it was a memorable collaboration in the Malayalam film industry.

Fans await new Mohanlal–Blessy film collaboration

Blessy’s most recent film was ‘Aadujeevitham,’ based on the famous novel by Benyamin and starring Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead role. The film took many years to complete and was considered one of the most challenging projects of Blessy’s career. Although there have been rumours among fans that Blessy and Mohanlal might collaborate again in the future, no official announcement has been made so far. However, Mohanlal’s warm words at the wedding clearly showed the deep respect and friendship he continues to share with the filmmaker.
