A major tragedy has been reported from Cuttack in Odisha, where a massive fire broke out at SCB Medical College and Hospital. According to initial reports, 10 people have died in the incident, while several others have been seriously injured. The fire reportedly started in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the trauma center on the first floor of the hospital late at night. Many critically ill patients were admitted in the ICU at the time of the incident. Officials say at least five patients are in critical condition after suffering severe burns and smoke inhalation. The incident occurred at around 3:00 AM, triggering panic inside the hospital. Fire brigade teams were immediately deployed to the spot and worked to bring the flames under control. Authorities confirmed that the fire has now been extinguished, while rescue and medical teams continue to treat the injured patients. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation, but a possible short circuit is being suspected as the reason behind the blaze. Officials have said a detailed probe will be conducted to determine how the fire started and whether there was any negligence. Meanwhile, Mohan Charan Majhi, the Chief Minister of Odisha, reached the hospital and reviewed the situation. He confirmed that 10 people lost their lives in the fire and assured that the government will investigate the incident thoroughly.
