Oscars 2026: Top 3 special moments to take place at the 98th Academy Awards

The 98th Academy Awards are set to dazzle with a glamorous evening of surprises and cherished memories. Expect touching remembrances of cinematic legends, including an exclusive reunion of the iconic stars from ‘When Harry Met Sally.’ Additionally, fans can rejoice at the anticipated reunions of cast members from ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ and ‘Bridesmaids.

Heartfelt tributes to Hollywood legends

‘When Harry Met Sally’ co-stars Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal will return to the 2026 Oscars to pay tribute to the late filmmaker and actor Rob Reiner, who was killed along with his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, in their home. Crystal and Ryan will appear onstage during the In Memoriam segment.Furthermore, multi-hyphenate Barbra Streisand is in talks to sing during the In Memoriam segment to pay tribute to her ‘The Way We Were’ co-star Robert Redford.

Movie cast reunions

As per a PEOPLE report, a ‘Devil Wears Prada’ moment is in motion for the Sunday, March 15, telecast of the 98th Academy Awards, where Anne Hathaway has previously been confirmed as a presenter. The moment is said to draw from the upcoming sequel (in theaters May 1), which reunites Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci. Oscar producers Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan revealed there will be a reunion of ‘Marvel’ superheroes, with some cast members taking to the stage.The comedy Bridesmaids, which turns 15 this year, will also be having a reunion as Oscar nominee Rose Byrne, Maya Rudolph, Kristen Wiig, Ellie Kemper, and Melissa McCarthy are likely to take to the stage together.

Best Original Song performances

Two of this year’s Oscar-nominated films will showcase their songs to live audiences. Best Original Song from the films ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ and ‘Sinners’ is to be performed at the Dolby Theatre.‘Sinners’ actor Miles Caton will join songwriter Raphael Saadiq for a rendition of I Lied to You from the Ryan Coogler film. Ballet dancer Misty Copeland, along with musicians Eric Gales, Shaboozey, Brittany Howard, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Bobby Rush, Alice Smith, and Caton’s ‘Sinners’ co-stars Buddy Guy, Jayme Lawson, and Li Jun Li will accompany the duo onstage.
