Akshay reacts to paparazzi culture after Jaya Bachchan’s comment

Akshay Kumar reacts to being clicked with Twinkle Khanna, kids after Jaya Bachchan’s comment on paps: ‘Photographer earns Rs 3,500 – Rs 4,000'

While fame and stardom come with a price, many celebs have often spoken about not being okay with the paparazzi invading their privacy and going overboard. In a recent interview, when Akshay Kumar was asked about it, the actor revealed that while he doesn’t consider it as a professional hazard, it would rather be worrysome for an actor if nobody clicks him or recognises him. He also was asked if paps are invading his privacy, if he is out with his wife Twinkle Khanna and kids – Aarav and Nitara. Reacting to it, Akshay said in an interview with Rajdeep Sardesai at India Today Conclave, “Dekhiye, main abhi airport se utrunga, kabhi meri wife saath mein hoti hai ya mere bacche hote hai. Woh photo lena chahte hai. Ek photographer ko, meri ek photo ya meri wife ke saath ek photo lene ke 3.5 hazaar ya 4 hazaar milte hai. Usko milte hai toh mereko kya problem honi chahiye. Uss bechare ka ghar chal jayega, woh khush ho jayega. (See if I’m at the airport with my wife and a photographer wants to click my picture, he gets around Rs 3,500-4000 to click my picture or my picture with my wife. If he’s earning money, then why should I have a problem in just posing for him.” When further asked about invasion of privacy, the actor said, “Agar aap bahar nikalte hai, biwi bacche ke saath toh kis baat ki privacy? (What privacy are you talking about when you are stepping outside with family and not at home?) ” Akshay was then questioned if he’s accepted it as a professional hazard and he quipped, “It’s not a hazard. If they don’t take a photo then it’s a problem. As an actor, if someone doesn’t recognise you then it’s a problem.” For those not in the know, Jaya Bachchan had said in an interview with Barkha Dutt a while ago, “My relationship with the media is fantastic, I am the product of media; but my relationship with paparazzi is zero. Who are these people? Are they trained to be representative of this country? You call them media! I come from the media; my father was a journalist. I have immense respect, tremendous respect for such people.”She then pointed out, “They think they have a mobile they can take your picture and say what they want and the kind of comments they pass.”
