Deepika Padukone, Saif Ali Khan, and Diana Penty wowed fans with ‘Cocktail’ in 2012. Now, director Homi Adajania brings back the sequel ‘Cocktail 2’. It features Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles. Reports said it might release in October 2026, but the makers stopped the rumours and shared the official date.

‘Cocktail 2’ release date

On March 13, Shahid shared a photo of himself from the movie and told the release date. ‘Cocktail 2’ comes to theaters on June 19, 2026. He said the first look, maybe the teaser, will show on March 18 in theaters. It will play with Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar 2’, the biggest film this year. The text on the picture says: “First look this Wednesday. Only in theatres. Cocktail 2 releasing in cinemas worldwide 19th June 2026.” In the caption, he wrote: “For more info, make your way to the theatres this Wednesday, March 18.” Shahid looks cool in a printed shirt, sitting in a car with sunglasses. Rashmika and Kriti also shared their first looks on social media, leaving fans excited.

Right after Shahid posted, fans got very excited. One fan said, “Shahid Kapoor era back.” Another wrote, “You Looking Extraordinary And Handsome big brother.” One comment was, “Ab Ranveer Singh ki movie me attach hoga.” Another said, “Yesss! This is what we want from Bollywood. A light hearted rom com. Enough with deshbhakti and agenda movies.”

‘Cocktail 2’ plot speculations

As per the reports, the story dives into modern relationships with a daring edge, potentially featuring Kriti and Rashmika as a couple, and Shahid as the third wheel. However, the makers haven’t confirmed it yet.

Shahid was last seen in O’Romeo

Shahid last appeared in Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘O’Romeo’ with Triptii Dimri and Avinash Tiwary. It was an action-romance film set in 1990s Mumbai, based on a book about mafia queens. Shahid stars as a tough gangster named Ustara who fights rivals, falls in love with Triptii’s character Afshan (a widow out for revenge), and faces betrayals with help from cop Nana Patekar.
